Samsung's Galaxy Note series has proven incredibly successful and pivotal in bringing larger display smartphones to the mainstream public. The company is expected to be releasing a Galaxy Note 3 later this year, and a new report states that at least some variants should be sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
According to ZDNet Korea, Qualcomm will be outfitting several upcoming (and still-rumored) smartphones this year with the Snapdragon 800 processor including the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The Snapdragon 800, according to Qualcomm, can support up to a 2560X2048 display with 1080p Miracast support and blaze at speeds past 2GHz. If it will indeed be powering the Galaxy Note 3, Samsung's phablet will be a force to be reckoned with.
Keep in mind, however, that Samsung will still probably opt to equip some Galaxy Note 3s with their own Exynos 5 Octa eight-core chipset. The company chose a similar strategy with the Galaxy S4 - giving some the Exynos 5 Octa and others a Snapdragon 600 processor - in order to keep up with supply demands. Given the immense popularity of Samsung flagship handsets, there' s a good chance Samsung will do the same with the Galaxy Note 3 in order to keep sales strong during the fall/holiday season.
Not much is known about the Galaxy Note 3, except that it should come with a 1080p display of around 6 inches. The phablet is also reported to have an eight-core graphics chip, 3GB RAM, and some impressive features behind its 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. Early rumors suggested the Galaxy Note 3 could come with a flexible display, but recent reports indicate that won't happen. Expect the latest version of Android out of the box.
