The Elder Scrolls Online is still in closed beta, but many fans are getting impatient waiting to hear news about the game. We have rounded up several interesting tidbits about how the game will play when it is released later this year.

One of the big questions on Elder Scrolls fans mind's is how the new MMO will deal with each player's actions. Will an NPC death or other event caused by the player be permanent in traditional Elder Scrolls fashion, or will the game adjust to replenish what players take? Creative director Paul Sage had this to say in a video for the game:

"Right now you can take any one of these items that you find and it's going to be part of a recipe. It's going to be part of our crafting system. Yes, you'll go out into the world and you'll explore and you'll find plants and many of the other things that you expect, but it all starts right in town."

It sounds like Elder Scrolls Online will mix the two formulas together and create a world full of loot for players to find, while maintaining the Elder Scrolls feel. However, it is not an exact recreation of the Elder Scrolls gameplay, as there is no repercussions for stealing the various items around town. In addition, players will come across treasure chests and other items hidden in the game that will grant them special bonuses.

Other gameplay aspects have been revealed by those who have access to the beta. For example, a first-person perspective will be available, along with several familiar areas from previous Elder Scrolls games reacted for the MMO. Neoseekers is also reporting that many of the quests are fairly typical MMO affairs, and not the world-changing missions that many Elder Scrolls games task you with.

Early reports are saying that the game is shaping up to be an excellent MMO, and we shall have to see if Bethesda is able to create an experience as good as the single player Elder Scrolls of the past.
