Samsung is onto the Galaxy S4, but Galaxy S2 owners are still getting Jelly Bean love around the world. The latest lucky recipients are those with the carrier Orange around the world.

Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update firmware XWLSU with a May 2013 build date is currently rolling out OTA for GT-I9100 model of the Galaxy S2. The release affects those on Orange networks in countries such as Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain and United Kingdom. Users will have to wait for Orange to push out Jelly Bean OTA, since carrier-branded firmware updates are not available through Samsung's KIES software. As with most Android upgrades, the roll out will happen in batches, so some regions will receive Android 4.1.2 before others.

Android 4.1.2 will finally introduce Jelly Bean to the Galaxy S2. Jelly Bean with a variety of features including Project Butter, a series of frame rate and system optimizations that increase performance and the fluidity of the interface. Users will also finally have access to Google Now, a personal assistant touted to predict what information the user wants and deliver it before it is even asked.

Samsung began releasing Android Jelly Bean for various Galaxy S2 variants worldwide earlier this year, but those were all for unlocked models. Carrier-branded smartphones take longer to receive updates since the carrier spends extra time tweaking and filling the software with bloatware.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is largely considered the smartphone that put Samsung on the map, paving the way for the much more successful Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 successors.
