Google's I/O conference has come and passed and the tech giant failed to reveal its next-generation of Nexus devices. A new report, however, states that the next Nexus 7 tablet should be launching in July.

According to Taiwanese-based electronics component supplier Elan Microelectronics, touchscreen controllers for the Nexus 7 refresh are already being shipped out. The report comes to us via DigiTimes, and its supply insiders. Google has not confirmed the tablet, so it's best to take the report with a huge grain of salt. Still, a July release time frame would line up with previous rumors and fit in nicely with Google's plans.

Nothing has been confirmed about the tablet's specs, although one analyst claims to have gotten some pretty reliable information on what the tablet is packing under the hood. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the new Nexus 7 will have a 7-inch 1920X1200 display, raising the pixel count significantly over the original Nexus 7's. Kuo also stated that the tablet will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor chipset (the same as the one powering the Nexus 4) and finally have a rear-facing camera capable of shooting 5-megapixel stills. An HD front-facing camera is also said to be included alongside a 4,000mAh battery.

The Nexus 7 2 will also apparently help launch Android 4.3, the rumored next iteration of Android. Google has been tight-lipped about their next mobile OS, and many speculate that Android 4.3, not Android 5.0 will be the company's next release.
