Right on the heels of Microsoft's big Xbox One reveal, EA is also announcing its own next-gen plans. The publisher teased their E3 offerings in a blog post titled "The Wait is Over" on EA's official website.
EA Labels president Frank Gibeau reconfirmed next-gen plans for NBA Live 14, FIFA 14, a new UFC game, Madden 25, and Battlefield 4 releases on the Xbox One.
In addition, Gibeau mentioned that EA's E3 press conference on June 10 will feature a "showcase of next-generation games like Battlefield 4, Need For Speed, a full range of EA Sports games and a first look at our plans for the Star Wars partnership with Disney."
"This is a big day - the first time in over a year that an EA developer can answer a question without starting: Sorry, I'm under NDA and can't provide any detail," Gibeau said.
"Today Microsoft has unveiled Xbox One and we can finally say: the next generation of hardware is incredible and the proof is in the details - the games and development engines that will breathe life into these systems."
EA highlighted a few of these titles this morning with their EA Sports Ignite program. This initiative aims to bring unparalleled and ultra realistic gameplay to sports titles on next-gen platforms. Their recently formed deal with UFC, as well as pre-existing franchises such as Madden and FIFA, will be among those included in Ignite.
Earlier this month, EA also acquired an exclusive license from Disney to develop and publish all "core" Star Wars video games. They also announced that Old Republic developer Bioware, Battlefield developer DICE, and Dead Space developer Visceral are already working on unannounced Star Wars titles.
It is very possible that we will get our first look at one or more of these during EA's E3 presentation.
The event is being called "The Download: EA 2013 Preview" and will take place on Monday, June 10 at 1 PM PST.
