The release date for the iPhone 5S has reportedly affected 4G network plans for European mobile carrier Vodafone.
Vodafone has delayed the commercial launch of its 4G network that was meant to rollout in June, according to The Telegraph.
The report also noted that while Apple's iPhone 5 is compatible with rival carrier EE, the rumored iPhone 5S may run on a different ratio likely fitting with Vodafone's plans.
Vodafone will delay its 4G network launch until August or September, citing manufacturing delays.
"End of the summer means when there's going to be a good commercial moment for launching 4G," said Vodafone CEO Vittorio Colao.
"EE had a little bit of an advantage because of the iPhone at 1800MHz [EE's 4G frequency]," Colao added.
"To be honest that will go away as soon as we launch our 4G actually."
The Telegraph stated that sources confirmed the iPhone 5S is a factor in Vodafone's 4G network delays.
A September release date was shared by Jefferies & Co.'s analyst Peter Misek during an appearance on Bloomberg TV, who noted the iPhone 5S will be "broadly similar" to the iPhone 5, but with a possible change to the fingerprint sensor.
"There's still a chance it could come in multiple colors. It's a virtual lock that you will get better processors and a 12-megapixel camera. The changes will be largely under the hood, as they were with the 4S," Misek said.
Apple hasn't confirmed any of the information above, but CEO Tim Cook did previously state new devices will be introduced "this fall and throughout 2014."
"I don't want to be more specific, I'm just saying we've got some really good stuff coming in the fall and in all of 2014," Cook said.
