The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) revealed a decrease in customer satisfaction towards Apple.
Overall, the ACSI reports customers are happier with their telecommunication services and technologies in comparison to a year ago.
"Customer satisfaction with the Information sector is improving, but none of these industries score higher than the national average," said ACSI Founder and Chairman Claes Fornell.
"Limited competition combined with high consumer expectations for information services are a formula for relatively weak buyer satisfaction, despite the gains."
Apple's customer satisfaction rating topped all other companies involved, including Motorola Mobility, Nokia, Samsung Electronics, HTC, LG Electronics, BlackBerry, and Kyocera. The Cupertino-based organization achieved a score of 81, and although it is enough to secure first place this year, it is down 2 percent from 2012.
Motorola Mobility, under Google, finished second and saw the second highest score increase from last year from 73 percent to 77 percent.
Samsung made the highest leap by 7 percent. For 2013, Samsung scored 76 percent, up from 2012's 71 percent. The South Korean-based organization's numbers are credited to the launch of the Galaxy S3. Samsung's score is enough to tie with Nokia, which increased by 1 percent from last year.
Unlike Samsung and Nokia, HTC and LG Electronics saw decreases this year. HTC fell 3 percent from 75 percent to 72 percent, and LG slipped from 75 percent to 71 percent.
The ACSI obtained its information from approximately 70,000 customer interviews.
