Next week will be a big one for gamers, as Microsoft will finally reveal their newest Xbox to the public on May 21.
Gamers can expect lots of information about the system to be shown off, and Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg discussed the event on Microsoft's official gaming podcast, Major Nelson Radio.
Greenberg revealed what many gamers are already suspecting, that the May 21 event will be memorable for both the expected next-gen Xbox reveal, and for some surprises Microsoft has been holding on to.
"We definitely have a lot of surprises planned...People are going to get a great inside look at really the making of the new platform and the team that's brought it to life."
Greenberg also revealed that, due to the sheer amount of information they have to relay about Microsoft's plans for the next generation of consoles, they will be holding back some information until E3.
"The team here has been hard at work for many many years on what we're going to show in the next few weeks. We have so much goodness that there's no way we could have packed it into one event."
The biggest event of the year for most gamers, E3 takes place on June 9-11. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo traditionally reveal their biggest games or new consoles during the event. However, Nintendo decided to dial down their presentation this year, leaving Microsoft and Sony vying for headlines as they show off their next-gen consoles. Sony will be revealing more information about the PlayStation 4, which Sony revealed on February 20. We shall see how the consoles stack up at that event.
The Xbox reveal event begins at 9 a.m. Pacific time, so interested gamers should check in on Tuesday (May 21, 2013) to find out the latest updates from the event. The next Xbox is expected to be available in the autumn.
