Contrary to previous rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will have neither a metal body nor a flexible display, say new reports.
"According to the insider of SamMobile, not only Samsung dropped the Flexible Displays for the Galaxy Note III but now has also dropped the renewed metal design. Yes Samsung did it again milking, milking and milking the Galaxy S3 (2012) design line! From what he heard internally is that the Galaxy Note III has same design as the Galaxy S4. This is because of the high expected amount. Samsung can not make the metal body right on time!" writes SamMobile.
Did you follow that?
The Galaxy Note 3 should look a lot like the Galaxy S4, with a plastic body rigid AMOLED display that are cheap and quick to produce.
That's not confirmed, but the timing does make sense. Why debut a brand new design scheme with a device that's a bit niche? Samsung loves to reuse designs; just look at how many Galaxy S4 variants it's making. If the company is going to overhaul the look of the entire Galaxy line, it will probably start with the S line of handsets, which is all set until probably next spring.
Still, there's no way to know for now, so stay tuned.
The Galaxy Note 3 is still a long way off and won't be released until later this year. But rumors indicate it will have a 5.9-inch or 6-inch Super AMOLED display with an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor, an eight-core Mali 450 graphics processing unit, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, a bigger battery and run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. An unconfirmed source says the Note 3 will debut in Berlin in September.
