The Nokia Lumia 928 is a couple days away from its Verizon Wireless launch, but it appears the Windows Phone 8 smartphone has been used already.
As claimed by a WPCentral forum member, the Lumia 928 was used at a concert featuring Swedish House Mafia. A video was uploaded on YouTube alleging the smartphone was used to record a segment of the concert, which was uploaded back on March 11 (see video below).
In addition to video recording, still photographs were provided, which evidently shows how Nokia has changed its low-light levels.
The camera capabilities are a strong selling point for the upcoming Lumia smartphone, and this is shown in the Reviewers Guide obtained by NokiaPowerUser.
"Introducing our next flagship device exclusive to Verizon Wireless, the Nokia Lumia 928 - with advanced technology that can capture, edit and share epic moments better than ever before," described Nokia in the Reviewers Guide, adding it can also take "amazing" blur-free photos and videos, and record distortion-free audio from one of the loudest smartphone speakers so far.
"Whether you're attending a party, a concert or a sporting event with friends, the Nokia Lumia 928 excels at capturing high-quality video, audio and blur-free photos of life's most share-worthy moments," said Nokia North America Vice President Matt Rothschild. "Verizon Wireless customers, we heard you and the wait is over - we're excited to offer a Nokia flagship smartphone, specially designed and optimized for the nation's largest 4G LTE network."
Additional features on the Lumia 928 include a 4.5-inch display with 1,280x768 pixels. The Lumia 928 comes with 32GB internal storage and 1GB of RAM and no card microSD card slot. When it comes to the photography, the rear-facing camera has 8 megapixels with 3,264x2,448 pixels and Carl Zeiss optics. The front-facing camera has 1.3 megapixels. The smartphone can also record at 1080p at 30 frames per second.
The Lumia 928 will be available in black and white color variants starting May 16 for $99.99 when signing a two-year contract with Verizon Wireless.
