The trailer to Meryl Streep and Julia Robert's new film "August: Osage County" has arrived.
The film, also starring Ewan McGregor, Sam Shepard, Abigail Breslin, Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Cooper, takes a look at the lives of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose paths have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.
The film, based on Tracy Letts' play and screenplay, was directed by John Wells who was in charge of 2010's highly acclaimed "The Company Men" and was produced by recent Oscar winners George Clooney and Grant Helsov. Harvey Weinstein will distribute the film and has already stated that he will push the film for Oscars. He stated "It was amazing, we invested in the play, which means getting movie rights. It stars Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts, is produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov."
Earlier in March the film received a test screening in which audiences praised Meryl Streep for her performance and stated that she may receive her fourth Academy Award.
Mike Schwartz stated "August Osage County just had it first screening. Overwhelmingly positive reviews. Praise for Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts."
Twitter user @Candzbee stated "Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts are unbelievably brilliant in August Osage county. Oscars for everyone! Tracy Letts has done it again!"
Streep last starred in "Hope Springs" for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. She also won her third Oscar for her role in "The Iron Lady" in which she played recently deceased Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
Roberts was last seen in "Mirror Mirror" as the wicked queen and in Tom Hanks' "Larry Crowne."
"August: Osage County" will be released on November 6th and the trailer will appear in front of "The Great Gatsby."
