If you're enjoying Injustice: Gods Among Us on the Wii U, I hope you like the current roster, because DLC for the platform has been delayed by several months.

According to the developer's official Twitter account, DLC for the Wii U version of the game will not be arriving until "this summer." No explanation was given for the delay.

"We expect DLC for the Wii U version of Injustice: Gods Among Us to be available this summer. Stay tuned for more details," NetherRealms states on the game's Twitter account.

Currently, the Flashpoint skin pack and the DLC character Lobo have already been released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. Batgirl has also been announced, but a release date has not been set yet. A trailer for Batgirl has been released. It seems her abilities are similar to a cross between Batman and Nightwing. You can watch the trailer below.

At least two additional, unrevealed characters will also be added in the future.

In addition to the DLC delay, players on the Wii U have also been commenting on the lack of online match lobbies, and the inability to open private games with their friends. The Wii U version also cannot synchronise with the Injustice iOS game to unlock the bonus Batman Beyond costume.

Injustice: Gods Among Us was released simultaneously for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U on April 16. It features a roster of DC Comics superheroes and villains battling it out in one on one, fighting game style matches. It has so far received significant critical and fan acclaim.

The story revolves around an alternate timeline where the Joker has destroyed Metropolis, killed Jimmy Olsen, and tricked Superman into accidentally killing a pregnant Lois Lane. In his rage, Superman kills the Joker and establishes a totalitarian new world order with himself in charge. An insurgency led by Batman emerges, as they pull heroes from the Prime universe into their timeline in order to overthrow the tyrannical Superman.
