Although Injustice: Gods Among Us was just released earlier this month, the fresh fighting game starring DC Comic characters has already been included into the EVO 2013 video game tournament. Injustice: Gods Among Us will be the ninth game included in the tournament, which pits the world's best fighting game players against each other in several different games. These games include Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, and King of Fighters 13.

During the Road to EVO events, many fighting fans had already been playing Injustice: Gods Among Us, so the news is not exactly surprising. The fighting game is made by NetherRealm, the same team that developed the reboot to the Mortal Kombat series, which is also part of the EVO tournament. The game has been praised for it's deep move set and excellent combat, so it may be a staple of fighting game tournaments for years to come.

Players of Injustice will receive the same amount of seeding points that a finalist would receive for any of the games that were already part of the tournaments. Stage transition and interactable objects will be allowed in the tournament, which runs from July 12-14 at Paris Las Vegas. Testers of the game will be allowed to play in EVO 2013, a move that has surprised many, considering the game's newness and the advantage that may cause.

Injustice: Gods Among Us recently released Lobo as the first DLC character for the game, and several new costume packs for the game as well. Batgirl is the next character to be put into the game, however, it is unknown when she will be released. Injustice: Gods Among Us is available on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Android, and iOS.
