Windows Phone statistics for May 2013 show how the Nokia Lumia devices are dominating the market worldwide.

According to AdDuplex, data collected on May 3 from 579 Windows Phone apps running AdDuplex SDK v.2 shows the Lumia 920 was the most used device among Windows Phone devices, but not by much. The Lumia 920 accounted for 13.1 percent, just one percentage point ahead of the Lumia 710.

Ranking in third place is the Lumia 820 with 11.2 percent, which is 2.8 percent ahead of the Lumia 610.

Making an impressive debut at eighth place is the Lumia 520, which made its launch at the 2013 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The Lumia 520 accounted for 4.4 percent.

The Lumia 720, which also made its debut at the MWC, also appeared on the chart at 1.7 percent, enough to place at fourteenth place.

Only three non-Lumia devices appeared on the worldwide Windows Phone devices rankings, the HTC 8X with 4.8 percent, HTC 8S with four percent, and the HTC Radar with 1.5 percent ahead of Windows Phone smartphones labeled as "other."

In the U.S., however, the Lumia 822 is placed as the most used Windows Phone device with 24.4 percent, ahead of the Lumia 920's 18.9 percent.

When it comes to the top manufacturers, Nokia easily toppled its competition with 80.2 percent. HTC placed second with 13.7 percent, comfortably ahead of Samsung's 4.5 percent.

Nokia also topped for Windows Phone 8 manufacturers with 79.8 percent, ahead of HTC and Samsung, which had 18 percent and 1.6 percent, respectively.

The Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system did see a 6 percent increase compared to the previous month, bringing it neck-and-neck with its predecessor, Windows Phone 7. The latest mobile platform finished at 49.4 percent, 1.2 percent behind Windows Phone 7's 50.6 percent.
