AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note owners are in the process of getting a special treat from their wireless carrier: Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

The upgrade was made available May 3, and interested parties can head over to https://www.samsung.com/us/attgalaxynote/update to download Jelly Bean for the AT&T Galaxy Note. Using Samsung's KIES software, users should be able to update the Galaxy Note to Baseband version I717UCMD3.

Android 4.1.2 will bring a number of exciting new features and improvements for Galaxy Note owners alongside the usual bug fixes and minor tweaks. Project Butter ups the framerate and system stability for better performance and interface fluidity. Google Now, a voice assistant akin to Apple's Siri, will be able to sift through account data to predict and display information it thinks the user will need.

"Jelly Bean makes your smartphone easier to use through several enhancements, including changes to the notification display that groups updates from the same application together, and allows you to expand or collapse notifications," AT&T wrote in a blog post detailing the Android update. "Customers will also be able to view the full text of an SMS message and the full photo of a MMS in the notification window."

In other Galaxy Note Jelly Bean news, it seems that Canadian carrier Telus is also rolling out Android 4.1 for its Galaxy Note users. Telus is pushing the upgrade out OTA, however since Android rollouts usually happen in batches, not all handsets will receive it immediately. As usual, Jelly Bean can be downloaded via Samsung's KIES software.
