Samsung and the technosphere might have moved on to the Galaxy S4, but that doesn't mean Samsung's older handsets are left out of the loop. The 2012 Galaxy S Advance is reportedly experiencing an Android 4.1.2 rollout in a few more countries around the world.
According to various reports and users, it seems that Germany, Poland, Ukraine, and India Galaxy S Advance model I9070 owners can nab Android 4.1.2 update through the Samsung KIES software. The update is not available OTA, and must be downloaded through Samsung's software. More European countries are expected to receive their Android 4.1.2 versions soon.
The Android 4.1.2 upgrade will give users a robust taste of Jelly Bean and its many new features. Project Butter, for instance will improve system performance and stability, while Google Now offers a voice assistant with predictive capabilities. The standard bug fixes and minor tweaks also apply.
Russian Galaxy S Advance owners got their Android 4.1.2 update back in January.
The Galaxy S Advance, also sometimes called the Galaxy S2 Lite, is an upgraded Galaxy S variant. The handset comes with a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, dual-core 1GHz processor, 768MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy S Advance released April 2012.
