The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 doesn't hit the U.S. market until May 30, but the first discounts are popping up on pre-orders.

Eager customers can pre-order the Galaxy S4 directly from Verizon for $199.99 with a two-year contract. However, that price is actually $249.99 an a $50 mail-in rebate, so you'll need to shell out the higher price upfront.

Now Wirefly is offering the Galaxy S4 on Verizon for $179.99 with a two-year contract if you pre-order. That's an instant discount, not a rebate, so you end up with more money in your pocket, and keep it there in the meantime.

If you have another smartphone that you're using currently, RadioShack might have a good deal for you. At first glance, it looks like gouging -- the Verizon Galaxy S4 is going for $249.99, $50 more than you'll pay buying directly from Verizon.

But purchases made before Jun. 1 get a $10 store credit. That's meh, but RadioShack also offers up to $300 off new phones with its trade-in program.

Most old phones won't net much, and even some new ones will go for little, depending on condition, but it looks like it's an instant discount as well, which could drop you initial cost to nothing, or perhaps just a pittance.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 1.6GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor (depending on country), 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD AMOLED display at 441 ppi, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, internal storage between 16 and 64GB, an SD card slot that can accommodate an additional 64GB, a polycarbonate body, Smart Pause and floating touch tech and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
