Hot on the heels of the Lobo DLC announcement, a new character for Injustice: Gods Among Us has inadvertently been revealed. Batgirl will likely be the next character to join the roster, appearing briefly on the Xbox Live Marketplace before being taken down.
Game Informer managed to spot the character in a YouTube video by user SFlip. When they tried to replicate the steps shown, the character was already gone, which likely means that NetherRealms did not intend to reveal the character so soon.
In any case, if she does turn out to be the second DLC character, Batgirl will be another inclusion in the ongoing Season Pass deal. The Season Pass is currently priced at $14.99 on PSN or 1200 Microsoft Points.
As no one has been able to get past the DLC purchase screen, we still have no idea how Batgirl plays. Taking a stab in the dark though, it's likely she'll function in a similar manner to Nightwing, with quick attacks and a wide range of specials.
Batgirl has been the moniker of several DC characters including Betty Kane, Helena Berinelli, Cassandra Cain, and Stephanie Brown. However, the DLC character will most likely take the form of Barbara Gordon, the most well known Batgirl.
Although she was paralyzed in a previous continuity, DC's New 52 relaunch has rehabilitated her character, making her appearance here feasible. She is the daughter of Police Commissioner James Gordon, and during the events of The Killing Joke, was shot and paralyzed by the Joker. She went on to become Oracle, a gifted computer hacker, leader, and tactician.
The character debuted in 1967, and has been a DC staple ever since.
The first officially announced DLC addition was Lobo, the intergalactic bounty hunter, who will be joining the game's cast on May 7.
