Recently, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has been under fire for its lack of internal storage.

Once the Android operating system, Samsung TouchWiz overlay and unremovable proprietary carrier and manufacturer apps are installed at the factory, the 16GB version of the Galaxy S4 only has 8.82GB of free space available for user data and apps.

Now Samsung is addressing those concerns, sort of.

"For the Galaxy S4 16GB model, approximately 6.85GB occupies system part of internal memory, which is 1GB bigger than that of the Galaxy S3, in order to provide high resolution display and more powerful features to our consumers," Samsung said in a statement to CNET. "To offer the ultimate mobile experience to our users, Samsung provides microSD slot on Galaxy S4 for extension of memory."

Essentially, Samsung is saying the problem is only slightly worse than it was on last year's Galaxy S3, and you weren't complaining then. Besides, you're getting a better display, and you can buy an SD card if you really need more storage. Right?

So the company isn't particularly mollified. In fact, consumers have been complaining about this kind of false advertising for years, but most people just factor that into their calculations when buying tech. And perhaps that's the point of the obfuscation: get people worried enough about storage and they might just decide to upgrade to the more expensive model.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 1.6GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor (depending on country), 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD AMOLED display at 441 ppi, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, internal storage between 16 and 64GB, an SD card slot that can accommodate an additional 64GB, a polycarbonate body, Smart Pause and floating touch tech and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
