With Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) confirmed for June, information on the next Apple mobile operating system continues to surface.

According to multiple reports, the iOS may see a redesigned user-interface, but may be "unsettling" for users who have a long history with Apple's mobile platform.

A source stated the new interface will be "very, very flat."

The term "flat" refers to simplicity and may see the iOS 7 move away from heavy textures as seen in current Apple mobile platforms.

The report is not necessarily new as the Wall Street Journal noted Apple's Senior Vice President of Industrial Design Jonathon Ive is seeking a "flat design" for iOS 7 last month.

"Overall, they expect any changes to be pretty conservative," reported WSJ's Jessica E. Lessin.

According to sources, via 9to5Mac, iOS 7 is currently nicknamed "Innsbruck." The new mobile platform is rumored to have new set of icons and redesigned toolbars.

iOS 7 may debut at the WWDC in San Francisco, which will take place between June 10 to 14. According to Apple, over 1,000 Apple engineers will be present for more than 100 technical sessions covering developing, deploying, and integrating technologies utilized by the Cupertino-based company.

"Our developers have had the most prolific and profitable year ever, and we're excited to show them the latest advances in software technologies and developer tools to help them create innovative new apps," said Apple's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller. "We can't wait to get new versions of iOS and OS X into their hands at WWDC."

Tickets for the WWDC went on sale last Thursday and have since been sold out.
