Batman: Arkham Origins seeks to set players in the shoes of a younger Batman, and it appears that developer WB Montreal has decided to find a new voice actor in order to make that experience possible. Kevin Conroy, who has voiced Batman through the first two games of the series, will not be returning for the next game in the series, which is set years before the events of the first game. This news comes from NAG Magazine, a South African video game magazine, through Batman News. Apparently, Kevin Conroy's iconic gravelly voice, which has often defined Batman in both television and video games, does not sound youthful enough for the new game, so a new, still unknown voice actor will be taking his place.

Kevin Conroy has been a popular choice to voice the Caped Crusader ever since voicing the character in the early 90's Batman: The Animated Series, along with Mark Hamill, the voice of The Joker for the Arkham series. Since then, he has voiced Batman and his alter ego, Bruce Wayne, in both previous Arkham video games, the MMO DC Universe Online, and even the very recently released Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Batman: Arkham Origins is set to be released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U October 25. The prequel tells the story of eight villains banding together to try and assassinate Batman. The game is also rumored to include a multiplayer element as well.

Mark Hamill has also declared his intention to not return to the series as The Joker. Whoever steps into the shoes of both voice actors will have their work cut out for them, to say the least.
