New footage from Injustice: Gods Among Us has emerged, showing off the first DLC character available for the recently released game. That character is Lobo, the interstellar bounty hunter anti-hero. In a new video, he clashes with Batman and shows off some of his trademark moves from the comics, using his famed hooked chains in the struggle. The video also shows Lobo making frequent use of his sawed off shotgun, and using his hoverbike as part of his super attack.
Notably, the video also showcases a new version of Batman, with a new skin that is currently not available in the game. It is based off of the Flashpoint version of Batman, where Bruce Wayne's father, Thomas, becomes the legendary superhero. While it is unknown when and how the new Batman costume will be released, NetherRealm's Ed Boon revealed on Twitter that Lobo will be available to download on May 7, so fans will not have to wait long to be able to play as the hardened bounty hunter.
Injustice: Gods Among Us was released last week, and follows the story of an alternative timeline within the DC Comics universe. In the game, The Joker manages to trick Superman to kill Lois Lane and their unborn child, pushing Superman to betray his moral code and kill The Joker. Afterwards, the fallen hero founds a new world order. The game, created by the same company that did the successful Mortal Kombat reboot, has been praised by critics and fans alike, and figures to be a big hit for the studio.
No word yet on who else will be joining Lobo in the DLC ranks for the game, but NetherRealm has promised at least three other characters will be added to Injustice: Gods Among Us through DLC.
