Fans of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will soon have the third and final piece of DLC for the game, as Konami has announced that the Blade Wolf DLC will become available in Japan on May 9. While Konami only announced the release date for the DLC in Japan, the last DLC for the game, Jetstream Sam arrived within a week of it's Japan release date in other major territories, so Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance should expect the DLC soon after.
The DLC will cost 1000 Yen in Japan, the same as JetStream Sam, which was released for $9.99 in the United States of America. Blade Wolf will let players play as IQ-84i, a robotic dog with chainsaws and machine guns mounted to it. The previous DLC packs for the game included a set of new VR missions, and a chance to play as the main antagonist of the game, Sam Rodrigues. It should be noted that, while Jetstream Sam was exclusive for the PlayStation 3 here in America, Konami has made no announcement of doing the same thing for Blade Wolf.
With Blade Wolf on it's way, Konami can now focus on getting the two games that comprise Metal Gear Solid 5 ready for the masses. Metal Gear Solid 5 will consist of two full-length games. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes follows the story of Big Boss and the events that land him in a coma for 9 years. Once he wakes up, Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain starts, and concludes the tale of Metal Gear Solid 5.
Blade Wolf certainly sounds like it has the potential to be worth the price of Metal Gear Rising itself. Playing as a robotic dog is certainly a unique spin on the series, and adding the ability of using the chainsaw on IQ-84i certainly has enough appeal as it is.
