Following Nintendo's lead, 2K Games has announced that they will not have a large presentation at E3. The company has instead decided to have closed doors business meetings for their parent company, Take-Two, rather than a full presentation or a booth on the show floor. The company announced this news on their website.
"At 2K, we're excited for the new opportunities coming with the next generation of hardware, and are hard at work preparing our announced titles for release...While 2K will not have a booth on the show floor at this year's E3 conference, we will have a lot of great news coming your way this spring..."
2K stated that they will be announcing news for their games through other channels, such as Twitter and Youtube.
It may strike many gamers as odd that the company would choose to skip E3, considering the amount of titles the company has in the works currently. Titles in the works include WWE 14, NBA 2K14, The Bureau, XCOM Declassified, an iOS port for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and the Brave New World expansion for Civilization 5.
It is unclear if Rockstar Games, which also typically skips E3, will be at the event as well. Grand Theft Auto 5, which is being developed by Rockstar, is being distributed by Take-Two. So, despite the game's release date becoming closer and closer, the company may not show off any new Grand Theft Auto 5 footage. Grand Theft Auto 5 is expected to have a new trailer out for the game on April 30.
With both Nintendo and now 2K games out for E3, which runs from June 9 to the 11, it may seem like the lineup for the event is a little sparse. However, E3 is the biggest event for the year for gaming, and there will surely be many different exciting events happening over the course of the expo. For example, Sony and Microsoft will be there, showing off their next-gen consoles and game lineups.
