PlayStation 3 and PC owners of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be pleased to know the the second DLC package for the game, Uprising, will be making it's way to their system of choice on May 16. Since April 16, the content has been exclusive to owners of the Xbox 360 version of the game. The DLC includes new maps, along with the highly touted zombie mode Mob of the Dead.
The Uprising pack, which was initially leaked before it's release date, features four new maps for Black Ops 2: Encore, Magma, Studio, and Vertigo. And, while those maps are all well and good, the main focus from both gamers and critics is the new Mob of the Dead zombie mode. This mode features several Prohibition era gangsters, played by actors known for their roles as thugs and crooks, facing off against hordes of undead and supernatural enemies on Alcatraz Island. Ray Liotta, Chazz Palminteri, Michael Madsen and Joe Pantoliano all lend their voices and likeness to the DLC, and promise to thrill PlayStation 3 and PC owners who have yet to see their characters in action.
Xbox 360 owners received the DLC a month earlier than everyone else because of Microsoft's exclusivity deal with Activision, that promises that the Xbox 360 will receive new DLC for the Call of Duty series first, and have a time period before it can appear elsewhere. This is similar to the arrangement Sony has with EA for the Battlefield series.
The Uprising Pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is available for about 1200 Microsoft Points, or about $15. PlayStation 3 and PC owners should look forward to picking up the DLC on May 16, and enjoy the carnage and chaos on all the new maps and zombie mode.
