The major carriers are dealing with supply shortages for the Samsung Galaxy S4, so smaller carriers will end up with the phone at almost exactly the same time as the big players.
U.S. Cellular is offering the Galaxy S4 both online and in its retail stores beginning Apr. 30 for $199.99 with a two-year contract. But online orders can begin as soon as Apr. 26; the phones should ship the same day, so customers will have them in hand earlier than many other people in the country.
That's the same price the flagship phone will cost on Verizon a month later, and Big Red customers will have to wait for a mail-in rebate first, so U.S. Cellular has one of the best deals around for a contract plan.
"The Samsung Galaxy S 4 will be available for purchase online at uscellular.com on Friday, April 26. Preorders will also begin shipping that same day along with the exclusive, free S View flip covers that were a part of the presale. The device will be available in stores on Tuesday, April 30," U.S. Cellular wrote in a press release.
Of course, U.S. Cellular doesn't cover the whole country; last I checked it was about 26 states, so the deal isn't for everyone.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 1.6GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor (depending on country), 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD AMOLED display at 441 ppi, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, internal storage between 16 and 64GB, an SD card slot that can accommodate an additional 64GB, a polycarbonate body, Smart Pause and floating touch tech and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
