Earlier this month is was reported that Polish retailer Ultima was advertising the release of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Legendary Edition, which would include all three DLC packages for the game. Well now Bethesda has confirmed to Gamespot that the Legendary Edition of the game does indeed exist, and it will be coming to North America and the rest of the world soon.
The Legendary Edition of the game will be the complete package for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Included will be all three of the DLC packs for the game, entitled Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn. The game will also come with the version 1.9 patch already installed, meaning that the Legendary edition will, indeed, have the Legendary difficulty setting and the level cap removed from skills. The game has a suggested retail price of around $60.
This is fantastic news for people who have arrived late to the Skyrim bandwagon, as now they can get the complete package for the game all at once, this is especially good news for Playstation 3 fans of the game, as they received the DLC for the game much later than other systems.
Recently, Bethesda had announced the end of support for Skyrim, meaning that no more DLC or major updates will be coming to the game, so this truly is the end of the line for Skyrim. Bethesda has now moved Skyrim personnel to other projects, which may include developing Fallout 4 for release sometime in the near future.
With the release of the Legendary Edition of Skyrim, players may now look forward to future projects set in The Elder Scrolls universe. The Elder Scrolls Online is set for release sometime this year, with applications to join the game's beta programs still underway. Look for the Legendary Edition of Skyrim on June 7 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
