Volition has released the content of the Commander in Chief Edition of the upcoming Saints Row 4, which is available to those who pre-order the game. The Commander in Chief edition of the game comes with some exclusive content, meant to reflect your character's status as President of the United States.
The Commander in Chief Edition features an Uncle Sam suit, allowing players to dress like several classic American icons. Players will also get the 'Merica weapon, which consists of several of the other game's gun, including a rocket launcher and dubstep gun, all put together in one package. Sounds to me like it could be a potential gamebreaker, but a fun one at that. Players will also get the Screaming Eagle Jet, a jet shaped like a bald eagle that shoots rockets out of it's talons and can emit a high-pitched screech that will disable enemies.
Saints Row 4, which comes out on August 20, will come out for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The game, in addition to the preorder bonuses listed above, will also feature superpowers such as telekinesis and super strength, and an alien invasion that drives the plot forward. Oh course, these are just the cherry on top of the wide variety of weapons, from standard pistols and assault rifles to the crushing dubstep gun, and the wacky costumes you will be able to dress your character up as.
The series is known for it's crazy, sometimes immature humor and open-world gameplay, and it seems Saints Row 4 will continue this legacy, even after original publisher THQ closed and the franchise was bought by Deep Silver. With a literally out of this world plot and a huge variety of ways to play the game, it looks like Saints Row 4 will be a entertaining free-for-all for fans of the series.
