The HTC One 64GB Developer's Edition and 32GB unlocked model have been delayed once again, this time until the end of April.
While they were supposed to be available now after being out of stock on HTC's website, it will be another week and a half before eager consumers actually get their hands on them.
HTC released a statement citing shipping delays as the cause for the latest wait. Admittedly, shipping has been thrown off nationwide due to the huge manhunt in Boston.
"We're excited that the new HTC One is now available through AT&T, Sprint T-Mobile and numerous national retail partners; however, we are experiencing unforeseen delays with shipping for the pre-ordered the 32GB SIM-unlocked and 64GB developer edition. We are working to fullfill orders as quickly as possible but the latest delivery for any customers will be before the end of April. We apologize to these customers for the delay. We know there is a lot of excitement for this phone and we can't wait to get this device into all of our customers' hands," reads HTC's statement in its entirety.
The 32GB unlocked model works on any network in the country. The 64GB Developer's Edition also comes unlocked, as does its bootloader, making it the prime choice for consumers who want to load custom ROMs. The only other way to get a 64GB version of the One is through AT&T, and the carrier has already said it won't unlock bootloaders on its phones.
The aluminum unibody of the One also precludes an SD card slot, so the storage you buy upfront is what you're stuck with.
The HTC One features a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 4.7-inch 1920x1080 pixel widescreen Super LCD 3 display, a 2300 mAh Li-Po battery, a 4-megapixel "Ultrapixel" camera with enhanced low-light sensitivity with 1080p HD video, 32GB of internal storage (up to 64GB on AT&T) and runs Android 4.1.2.
Check back for the latest updates on the HTC One as they become available.
