U.S consumers eager to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy S4 may have to wait until May 30.
According to leaked documents, Samsung's new flagship phone won't be available until the end of May at the earliest. That's a full month after its release on AT&T and T-Mobile. No word yet on when Sprint will have the Galaxy S4.
Of course, any leak can be unreliable, but the May 1 release date for T-Mobile matches up with what the carrier announced on its own several weeks ago.
Verizon doesn't usually go out of its way to get new phones before it competitors, relying on its size and reputation for good reception and coverage and high data speeds to bring in customers even if they have to wait a few weeks for the phone they want.
Last year, Verizon was the last of the four major carriers to have the Samsung Galaxy S3 in stock. It was nearly three weeks after T-Mobile and Sprint unveiled the phone that Verizon had it in stores, but that was mostly due to a supply shortage on Samsung's end.
That won't happen this year, as Samsung has gone out of its way to make sure it has enough S4 devices on hand for the launch, so perhaps Verizon is just dawdling this time around.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 1.6GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor (depending on country), 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD AMOLED display at 441 ppi, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, internal storage between 16 and 64GB, an SD card slot that can accommodate an additional 64GB, a polycarbonate body, Smart Pause and floating touch tech and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
