It seems that Nokia Lumia 620 users around the globe are receiving their latest update, firmware 1308..
Lumia 620 owners from Germany, India, and Malaysia are all stating that 1308 has begun rolling out, and it shouldn't be long before more regions start reporting in. The update, which has been available to Lumia 920 owners for some time now, comes with a number of performance enhancements, but would-be downloaders beware: the firmware might not be worth your time.
As Latinos Post has reported, a number of complaints about the 1308 firmware on the Lumia 920 have already surfaced. Many have to do with connectivity and battery issues - two very important factors in smartphone usage. In fact, many are stating to simply stay away from the update until Nokia releases a version with fixes.
"Warning!!! Do not update to the new 1308.0001 firmware. The software has a huge bug that causes the data connection to not function properly," wrote andyshine77 on Nokia's Support Discussions. "If you do update your phone, you will have poor or no data connection whatsoever...As of now I and many others have no data and poor phone connection, even after preforming the sim card removal and reset Nokia has suggested."
Nokia has taken note and responded with:
"We have received some consumer feedback related to the Nokia Lumia 920 firmware update and have temporarily paused delivery of the update to investigate. We'll have more information as it becomes available. For those who have already updated their software, a new update will be available in the near future. "
While it remains to be seen if these same bugs plague Lumia 620 owners, it might be best to let some others do the test driving for you on this one before downloading.
Let us know if you downloaded 1308 on your Lumia 620, where you're located, and whether you experienced any problems with it.
