It's finally arrived. Galaxy S2 Skyrocket users on AT&T's network are finally receiving their servings of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The update is available through both Samsung's KIES software and OTA at the moment. Like all Android updates, this one will be rolled out in batches, and will hit different handsets and locales at different times, so expect there to be some delay. Grabbing the update should make the Galaxy S2's firmware read Android 4.1.2 PDAI727UCMC1.

Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S2 will be one of the biggest interface leaps users for the handset have ever experienced. For starters, Android 4.1's Project Butter improves system performance and stability, all while increasing the framerate for a much more fluid experience for the eye. Jelly Bean will also mark the debut of Google Now, a voice assistant like Siri that is capable of proactively letting you know how your morning commute is going to be and reminding you of any errands you might have to run. Other notable changes include improvements to the Notification bar, and Samsung's latest TouchWiz Nature UX interface.

Galaxy S2 users on other U.S. networks have also recently gotten their Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates pushed out OTA as both T-Mobile and Sprint recently satisfied their customers.

The Galaxy S2 is expected to receive one more update - Android 4.2.2 - before Samsung calls it quits and users will have to purchase a newer handset to experience the latest official versions of Android.
