Telltale Games is releasing Poker Night 2 later this month, offering players to chance to use many popular characters from video games, television, and movies, according to Gamespot. The game is the sequel to the popular Poker Night at the Inventory, which was released in 2010.
The basic concept of the game is that players will be joining four pop culture icons in a poker game. Characters that will be in the game include Ash Williams from the Evil Dead trilogy, Sam from Sam and Max, Claptrap from the Borderlands series, and Brock Samson from The Venture Bros. The dealer with be none other than GLaDOS, the maniacal robot from Valve's Portal series. No word if other characters will be available at launch, or if Telltale plans to release more characters later through DLC packages.
The game shall be available on Steam, Xbox Live Arcade, and the PlayStation Network. Poker Night 2 also will give players the chance to win "Bounty Unlocks." These will be a variety of awards available in other games besides Poker Night 2 that are unlocked when players achieve certain goals such as Xbox 360 avatar items and PlayStation 3 themes. Borderlands 2 fans will be able to unlock special skins and heads for their characters as well. Team Fortress 2 fans will also be able to unlock specialized character accessories for the game in Poker Night 2 as well.
No word yet on how much Poker Night 2 will cost, or when exactly it will be coming out this month. It will also be interesting to see how Telltale will deal with cross-platform "Bounty Unlocks." Whether only certain rewards will be available on each platform, or Telltale will find a way to give each different platform their own unique set of rewards remains to be seen.
