Apple's mobile operating system continues to dominate against Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone in the latest market share data for March.
The Cupertino-based company's iOS saw an increase in the mobile and tablet operating system market share with 61.41 percent last month. According to NetMarketShare, the number is an increase from February's 54.91 percent.
Apple's positive performance was bad news for Google's Android platform, which saw a decline in March. In February, the Android mobile operating system accounted for 25.65 percent, however, the March figures show a small drop to 24.85 percent.
Despite Android's fall, it still holds a larger market share to compared to the next five mobile operating systems combined.
Rounding the top five are the Java ME with 8.16 percent, followed by Symbian with 1.71 percent, and Windows Phone with 1.5 percent. The market share for the Microsoft mobile operating system is an increase from February's 1.24 percent, while the Java ME and Symbian are down from February's 12.38 percent and 3.38 percent, respectively.
BlackBerry also experienced a decline compared to February's numbers. Despite the BlackBerry Z10's launch, BlackBerry's market share dropped from 1.39 percent to 1.38 percent.
The market share numbers for the iOS and Android are opposite from what StatCounter Global Stats reported. As Latinos Post covered, with 37.16 percent, Android is topping the mobile operating system market share, worldwide, based on early March numbers. Apple's iOS saw a slight decrease in the mobile market share from 27.21 percent in February to 27.2 percent this month.
