It looks like the major carriers aren't the only ones offering the Samsung Galaxy S4 for pre-order in a few weeks. U.S. Cellular will start taking orders for the new flagship smartphone on Apr. 16, the same day as AT&T.
No word on when the pre-orders will ship, though it's likely it will be somewhere around May 1, the same day the Galaxy S4 will be available on T-Mobile.
And no word on the exact price of the S4, though it's likely it will be around $250 with a two-year contract, the same price AT&T is offering.
It's also possible U.S. Cellular will offer some kind of discount to bring in customers, especially since they're not getting a head start on availability.
But now that T-Mobile has revamped its entire pricing structure, customers can get a Galaxy S4 from them for as little as $99 upfront, so the incentive for U.S. Cellular to driop its prices (which won't be able to go as low as T-Mobile), is lower.
But even if the phone costs the same amount, customers might be able to get a cheaper monthly plan and data access through the smaller carrier, as long as they're located in parts of the country covered by U.S Cellular.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 1.6GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor (depending on country), 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD AMOLED display at 441 ppi, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, internal storage between 16 and 64GB, an SD card slot that can accommodate an additional 64GB, a polycarbonate body, Smart Pause and floating touch tech and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
