People hoping for a mini version of the recently announced Galaxy S4 from Samsung may have their wish sooner than they anticipated. Samsung has confirmed in Bloomberg that the Galaxy S4 Mini will become available in Europe soon after the launch of the regular Galaxy S4.
The expected arrival date for the device is no later than June, with the regular Galaxy S4 coming out in late April and May. Samsung has announced no plans to bring the S4 Mini to the United States, as the device's predecessor, the S3 Mini, never was available to consumers in the country.
Gotta Be Mobile is reporting that the Galaxy S4 Mini will feature a 4.3-inch (as opposed to a 5-inch on the regular Galaxy S4) Super AMOLED qHD display with 256 ppi. The phone will also carry a 1.6GHz dual-core processor, although it has been suggested that the device may also have a quad-core processor. The operating system for the phone will be Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the latest version of the Android system. Android 4.2.2 will work cohesively with Samsung's latestTouchWiz interface, the Nature UX 2.0. The phone also looks like it will have both LTE and HSPA+ forms available.
It had been long rumored that Samsung was planning on delivering a mini version of the Galaxy S4, though when such a device would become available was a mystery until now. The device was first outed as part of Samsung's "Project J" family, which also reportedly includes a smartwatch.
