A release date window for Battlefield 4 has been possibly revealed by a leaked piece of promotional art for the upcoming game.
Gamersky found the poster, which is reportedly an EB Games ad that will soon be going up in storefronts. The image shows one of the game's pre-order incentives, a pair of dog tags, as well as an "Available Fall" tagline.
This new information comes contrary to the spring 2013 release window that was previously rumored.
EA and DICE will be holding an official unveiling event for the game later today at GDC, so it is very likely we will hear some clarification on the issue at that time. Until then, all we really know is that the game is well into development, and will be keeping its predecessor's modern setting, although most gameplay specifics are currently unknown.
In a smaller bit of news, a music track purportedly from the upcoming game titled "Hanna's Theme" has been uploaded to YouTube. There's no context for the piece, or confirmation on its authenticity, but you can listen to it below.
Purchases of Medal of Honor: Warfighter came packaged with future access to Battlefield 4's multiplayer beta, although rumors circulate that Battlefield 3 premium members will also be let in.
The game will most likely be available on next-gen as well as current-gen systems including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and possibly whatever new console Microsoft is preparing to announce.
Last month, EA Labels President Frank Gibeau revealed that Battlefield 4 has already been demoed for retailers.
"Console partners who have seen our early work agree, EA's next-gen software is nothing short of astonishing," said Gibeau in an official blog entry. "At a GameStop company meeting earlier this week, we gave 500 store managers a sneak peek at Battlefield 4. The game received a huge ovation and thousands of fans reacted to a single enthusiastic Tweet by GameStop's CEO."
