Pictures have leaked alleging to be from Microsoft's next operating system - Windows Blue.
The images were located on Winforum and noted its build number as 9362. As seen with the images, the upcoming operating system bares heavy similarities to the current Windows 8.
What is apparent with the leaked images is Microsoft building Snap Views, which gives users the chance to place apps side-by-side.
The apps included in the next operating system are the next Internet Explorer - 11, SkyDrive, maps, alarm, calculator, and more.
Users will be able to personalize the desktop, as tiles appear both larger and smaller than in the current Windows 8.
Windows Blue has been rumored for a long time, including a mobile version, even as Windows 8 launched.
Microsoft Senior Marketing Manager Greg Sullivan did hint on what his company is working on in late February as the Mobile World Congress captured many tech fans' attention.
"Over the course of the next several months, I wouldn't be surprised to see some exciting new devices and more interoperability before we start talking about what [operating system] is next," Sullivan said.
Sullivan did note that current Windows Phone 8 customers will be able to upgrade to the next mobile operating system, unlike Windows Phone 7 customers who cannot update to the latest version.
"We're going to have an upgrade path going forward. Windows Phone 8 can evolve. We have an architecture that enables portability and is fundamentally hardware independent," he explained.
Microsoft has not issued a statement about the "leaked" images.
