Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Upgrade: Droid RAZR, MAXX Problems Reported After Installation

It appears that many Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX owners are reporting problems with their phones after updating them to the Android 4.1.2. The update has recently become available to users, but apparently some people who have downloaded the newest firmware update have reported bugs that affect the phone's widgets and ability to take calls.

Phones Review is reporting that several users have experienced second incoming calls being dropped when users try to put them on hold. Some have even gone as far as to say that the only thing not affected negatively by the update was the battery life. Verizon is telling customers that the problem is fairly widespread, and that the problems are being worked on by Motorola as we speak.

Motorola first announced that RAZR and RAZR MAXX owners would get the update to 4.1.2 Jelly Bean earlier this month, but it seems as though the switch as been less than smooth. Android 4.1.2 offers users the chance to use Google Now, a new notification bar, and a new voice search option. Surprisingly, this is not the first time the upgrade has been to the RAZR/RAZR MAXX. Several customers reported that they received the update around Christmas, before it was quickly pulled by Verizon. In that case, it looked like the company did not intend to release the update, as it was still in beta. The main cause of problems with that unintentional update was that most users had trouble downloading the actual update, and not any sort of bug issues like those reported today.

There is no word on how widespread the issues appear, but it sounds like a significant portion of users must be having problems if Motorola and Verizon are working towards getting the problem fixed. Considering the wait people have had to endure before receiving the update, hopefully these wrinkles get ironed out soon.
