A new rumor has emerged that Activision's next Call of Duty game will reportedly be titled "Ghosts," and will be released exclusively for next-gen consoles and the PC.

The rumor comes from IGN, grabbing the info from a YouTube user named Drift0r, who cites his own sources.

According to the report, Ghosts is not technically a "Modern Warfare" series installment, but will be feature  present day era weapons and equipment. Interestingly, the game is set in the future, but for whatever reason, the characters are going to have to use weapons from the past.

New gameplay features include player movement improvements such as dashing and sliding while shooting, corner peeking, and rolling side to side while prone. Additionally, Ghost will allegedly feature "dynamic loading screens" such as breaking a window to enter a room, or rappelling down from a helicopter.

Singleplayer maps will feature a destructive environment, with the possibility of it being implemented into multiplayer at a later date. Lastly, Spec Ops will be replaced by an all new mode.

According to the rumor, Call of Duty: Ghost will be released exclusively for next gen consoles and the PC, with an early May date targeted for the official announcement. Until then, take this unconfirmed info with a very large grain of salt.

Activision has yet to offer a comment on the story.
