Nokia's Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8 smartphone has a new price tag: free.

The smartphone, currently exclusive in the U.S. with carrier AT&T, is now offered at the Microsoft Store for $0.00.

The deal is valid under two categories. The first option to obtain the free Windows Phone 8 smartphone is to sign a new account with AT&T. The other available option is for current AT&T customers who want to upgrade their device but only under a family plan.

Valued at $599.99 at the Microsoft Store, the Lumia 920 is also offered as a replacement device with no contract changes for $499. A $9.99 Next Business Day shipping fee is included via FedEx. The $9.99 shipping fee is waived if signing on with AT&T.

With the free Lumia 920, the next phase is for customers to choose a data plan. AT&T lets the consumer choose one among the 450, 900, and Unlimited Minutes plans. Prices of the data plans start at $39.99 and increase to $69.99 per month.

The Microsoft Store currently has the black, red, and yellow Lumia 920 smartphones for free.

At the carrier's main site, AT&T is offering the Lumia 920 for $99.99 when signing on for a two-year contract. Signing on for one year will increase the smartphone's price to $349.99 while the month-to-month price adds an additional $100.

The Lumia 920 smartphone has a screen size of 4.5 inches, 32GB of internal storage with 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with 3,264x2,448 pixels with LED flash, Bluetooth 4.0, an NFC chip, 2,000mAh battery capacity, and is available in black, gray, red, yellow and white color options.
