Microsoft has released a new advertisement pitting the Nokia Lumia 920's camera abilities against Samsung's Galaxy S3 smartphone.
Titled "The Windows Phone Challenge - Galaxy S3 vs. the Nokia Lumia 920," the advertisement features real people talking to Microsoft employee Ben. He meets a couple that owns a Galaxy S3 smartphone and tests them on which camera provides the best photography.
Ben offers a $100 bet to the couple if the Samsung smartphone outperforms the Nokia device.
"It's like a professional camera," said Galaxy S3 owner Brittany upon viewing the results of the test.
Ultimately, Ben offers Brittany an upgrade to the Lumia 920.
In the ad, it is noted, "Challenges vs. Microsoft employee and reflects Windows Phone functionality with basic configuration; both phones on Wi-Fi. Low light features available on Nokia Lumia 920."
"The Nokia Lumia 920 has PureView camera technology with Optical Image Stabilization and a Carl Zeiss lens that captures blur-free pictures and videos-even if your hand is shaky or you're in low-light conditions," Microsoft noted. "Along with a PureMotion HD+ display and built-in wireless charging, it redefines your smartphone experience."
The advertisement was uploaded on YouTube on March 19, less than a week after Samsung launched their latest smartphone, the Galaxy S4.
It also comes after Nokia confirmed an update for the Windows Phone 8 smartphone would come soon. Under the software version 1232.5957.1308.00xx, the update will include performance and stability improvements, display stability enhancements during phone calls, and improvements to automatic adjustments on display brightness.
