The Sony Xperia Z tablet is now available for pre-order in the UK at the online Sony Store. The company estimates a delivery date between Apr. 12 and Apr. 15.
Three models of the Xperia Z tablet are for sale.
A 16 GB Wi-Fi-only model costs £399. Upgrade to 32 GB and the price jumps to £449. A 16 GB LTE/4G-enabled model doesn't list a price, but it will likely run £499 or £549.
Both Wi-Fi models come in black, and the 32 GB version also comes in white.
Canadian fans of the Xperia Z tablet will need to wait a bit longer, but the release is confirmed for this summer, according to a tweet from Sony Canada.
"This summer! RT @Nick_Galo: @SonyCanadanews Hi!I have a question:when coming out the Sony Z?" the company posted. While some readers got confused, thinking Sony meant the Xperia X smartphone, the company later confirmed they were talking about the tablet.

Of course, that could be bad news for U.S. customers. Canada often gets smartphones and high-end tech before the U.S., so if Canadians need to wait until the summer, it makes the May launch date rumored earlier for the Xperia Z tablet look less likely.
The Sony Xperia Z tablet is the world's thinnest and lightest Android tablet, weighing just 1.09 pounds and measuring just over a quarter inch thick. It features a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 10-inch 1900x1200 display, an 8 megapixel camera and runs Android 4.1 Jell Bean, though Sony has promised a quick upgrade to 4.2. It is waterproof down to a meter in depth for up to half an hour.
