As far as rumors go, this one is pretty circumstantial, but it doesn't depend on dubious whispers from the shadows.

A little blurb on the Samsung website for the newly unveiled Galaxy S4 smartphone might actually reveal some info about the upcoming (and still unknown) Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phone/tablet hybrid.

A plug for the GamePad portable gaming accessory for Samsung phones says it's available for screens between 4 inches and 6.3 inches. The Galaxy S4 has a 5-inch screen, and the current Galaxy Note 2 has a 5.5-inch screen, so the only Samsung phone that might have a screen as big as 6.3 inches is the upcoming Galaxy Note 3.

Specious? Sure. Typo? Maybe. A strange and atypical bit of futureproofing on Samsung's part? Could be.

But when rumors circulated that the Note 3's screen would only be 5.9 inches, many fans groaned, hoping it would be larger. Competitors like LG are dipping their toes into the huge screen market, so maybe Samsung is responding to consumer pressure. I mean, who wants to be able to fit their phone in their pocket anyway? Right?

Okay, so maybe 6.3 inches is getting ridiculous. Tablets start at 7 inches, and 6.3 is actually closer to 7 than 5.5. And Samsung has shown that it's happy to let rumors spread uncontested simply to drum up more interest (and coverage. Guilty.)

But I trust a little blurb on an official Samsung ad as much as I trust unnamed sources from within the company. Which is to say, not at all.

The Galaxy Note III is still a long way off and won't be released until later this year. But rumors indicate it may have a 5.9-inch or 6.3-inch screen with an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor.
