Verizon has started pushing out the upgrade to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean to all Droid RAZR and RAZR Maxx phones. Droidlife is reporting that the company is now making the update available to all users of the phone. Users can go to their phones settings, then go into the About Phone menu, then look for the system update.

The new update comes with a host of new features. For one, the camera, keyboard, and gallery have all been updated for easier and better use, as has the interface as a whole. The Google Chrome browser will be added to the phone, along with the Google Now search feature. The alarm and timer features have been removed and replaced with the Google Clock. The RAZR and RAZR Maxx will now be able to support mobile hotspots. Voice Search is also included in the update..

In addition to all these add-ons, Verizon has removed several features as well, such as the My Music/My Gallery app (replaced by the standard Google Apps). For a full list of features the update provides, readers can go to the official Motorola site here.

The update from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean is 338MB in size. Motorola began a soak test to see if the update was ready for the RAZR and RAZR Maxx last week. It appears that test was successful, to say the least.

Now that users are caught up to Android 4.1.2, They can enjoy the features that have been available to others for a long time, and can look forward to news for the 4.2 update (if it ever happens). But until then, RAZR and RAZR Maxx owners should be thankful that the have this new update to play around with.
