New rumors say the Samsung Galaxy S4 will have dual SIMs in some models.
"The folks at SamMobile have confirmed that according to their sources, the Galaxy S4 will launch with a dual SIM version which will be known as the Galaxy S4 DUOS," writes Ubergizmo.
Dual-SIM phones allow for two accounts to be used on the same phone at the same time. So an S IV owner could access both their work and personal mobile accounts on the same handset, with two different phone numbers and two different data, text and talk plans.
Or an owner could use one SIM for a plan with unlimited calling and the other for an unlimited data plan from two different carriers, allowing a mix-and-match option that offers the best deal.
Dual-SIM phones, while versatile, are more complicated, and carriers in the U.S. prefer their phones to be single-branded, so they haven't caught on much in America. So the dual-SIM version of the Galaxy S IV is currently only slated for release in China, on the Chinese carrier Unicom.
That means -American mobile phone users looking for more versatility will need to hold out longer - or perhaps buy an unlocked dual-SIM version from China, if it ever becomes available.
The Samsung Galaxy S IV will be revealed at a huge launch event in New York's Times Square on Mar. 14. Samsung's flagship phone is expected to feature a quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 4.99-inch Full HD AMOLED display, a 13 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video and come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
