It may appear that Microsoft has solved its Surface stock issues.
As Latinos Post has been following, Microsoft's Surface with Windows 8 Pro tablet has been experiencing stock issues, although unconfirmed if it is due to production, demand, or another circumstance.
The 128GB variant of the Surface with Windows 8 Pro first achieved "out of stock" status on Feb. 16, same day as it's retail launch at the Microsoft Store.
Since then, Microsoft Surface General Manager Panos Panay stated the company is working on re-stocking the 128GB model. He has delivered, but it did not last long.
At numerous points in late February and early March, the 128GB, and at one point the 64GB model, of the Surface with Windows 8 Pro sold out again.
Shipping delays were noted for the 128GB model for March 1, and a second was issued for March 12. On March 7, Latinos Post reported on the 128GB model selling out again ahead of the March 12 shipment deadline.
While the Surface with Windows 8 Pro tablet experienced the reoccurring sellouts, Panay or the Surface Blog provided no statements.
Perhaps production is meeting demand?
As of this weekend, the 128GB model is accepting orders and no shipping delays are posted.
The Surface with Windows 8 Pro is priced at $899 for the 64GB model while the 128GB model is $1 shy from reaching the $1,000 mark.
The Surface tablet is also set to make its worldwide debuts. The Surface with Windows RT will be available in Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, and Taiwan later this month. The Surface with Windows 8 Pro will also be available in the "coming months" to New Zealand, as well as Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom
The worldwide shipments come as Motley Fool senior technology analyst Eric Bleeker noted Microsoft must look into their Surface prices if they wish to continue to be a name in the tablet market.
"The problem with Surface was that it was priced a bit too high," said Bleeker. "If you look at the initial price of $499 for the entry-level Surface, you need an extra $100 for the keyboard which is a near necessity. And following the Surface we haven't exactly seen a flood of Windows 8 tablet interest, partly because of the Windows expense licensing model."
