Samsung's Galaxy S4 smartphone will undoubtedly feature new mechanisms but a report states a Galaxy S3 Android update could provide some S4 features.
According to SamMobile, the site received screenshots of the next generation Galaxy S smartphone. Based on the screenshots, the Galaxy S4 will have Smart Scroll and Smart Pause features along with a Full HD 1080p panel.
In addition, the Galaxy S4 appears to maintain the same user-interface (UI) elements from the Galaxy S3.
However, SamMobile received an update in regards to the Smart Scroll and Smart Pause images. The update is part of the Android 4.2.1 update for the Galaxy S3. Regardless, the Galaxy S4 will also feature Smart Scroll and Smart Pause.
An announcement on debuting the Galaxy S4 is expected on March 14 in New York.
In related Android news, the fourth version of the Android operating system has surpassed the distribution of the Android 2.3 versions.
The fourth generation of the Android, which features versions 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and versions 4.1 and 4.2 (Jelly Bean), accounted for 45.1 percent of all Android distributions. The Ice Cream Sandwich's distribution totaled 28.6 percent while the Jelly Bean captured 16.5 percent.
The other Android version that trails version four is the Gingerbread, which represented Android versions 2.3 to 2.3.7. The Gingerbread codename accounted for 44.2 percent.

According to Android, it powers millions of devices in more than 190 countries.
"It's the largest installed base of any mobile platform and growing fast-every day another million users power up their Android devices for the first time and start looking for apps, games, and other digital content," Android noted.
