Fans of the Assassin's Creed series have been under a veritable torrent of both rumors and confirmed information about the latest game in the series, entitled Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Until recently, gamers were unaware of what the game will be about, but Ubisoft recently confirmed a host of details about the game. But if that was not enough for some fans, they have received yet another interesting tidbit of information about the game, this time from creative director Jean Guesdon. In an interview with CVG, Guesdon dropped this bombshell on us:
"Next-gen versions will bring to the players new connected features allowing them to feel that even if they remain 'single player' it will be better to be a 'single connected player'...I mean, that next-gen consoles will allow players to have a solo experience that benefit the presence of a huge community."
This is an important quote for two big reasons. Firstly, the only next-gen system the game is confirmed for is the PlayStation 4, so this heavily implies that the game will also head to the Xbox 720 (which is still to be unveiled).
Secondly, this also means that players will most likely be required to be connected to the internet in order to play the game, even in single player mode. This feature has been rumored to be apart of the Xbox 720, but not for the PlayStation 4. If that is indeed true, then this may upset some gamers who do not want to have to deal with logging on to the internet every time they want to play a game.
While what these "connected features" are remain a mystery, fans can expect to learn more about the game as it gets closer to it's October 29th release date for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.
