Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Release Date: Black 8-inch Tablet Photo Leaked; India Gets The Galaxy Note 510

Ahead of the second quarter release date, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0's offerings are slowly leaking starting with the Charcoal Black color variant.

Unveiled at the 2013 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain last week, the Galaxy Note 8.0 debuted in a white model but a black model is now making the rounds.

Obtained by Phone Arena, a promotional photo of the Galaxy Note 8.0's Charcoal Black model was leaked.

Samsung has not confirmed a black model of the 8-inch tablet yet. The black and white models of the Galaxy Note 8.0 would put Samsung in direct competition against Apple's 7.9-inch iPad Mini, which also comes in black and white variants.

"The Galaxy Note 8.0 breaths fresh life into the category as it delivers the perfect fusion of portability and everyday productivity - the result is a pioneering, pocket-sized solution that enhances and enriches our everyday lives, whether at work or play," said Samsung Electronics' President of the I.T. and Mobile Communications Division JK Shin.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 features an 8-inch screen with 1,280x800 pixel resolution at 189 pixels per inch, 16GB and 32GB internal storage, 2GB of RAM, a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera with 2,592x1,944 pixels, and a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera. Android operating system version 4.1.2, and a 4,600mAh battery capacity help round out the tablet,

As seen with the previous Samsung Galaxy Note products, the S Pen will make its return but for the 8.0.

"S Pen technology is now so advanced that it doesn't even have to touch the screen," noted Samsung. "With Air View, the S Pen needs only to hover over the screen to see previews of videos, emails, photos and appointments on SPlanner without opening the file or application in full."

In addition, the Galaxy Note 8.0 will make its Indian debut with the name Galaxy Note 510. According to GSM Arena, Samsung Mobile India confirmed the tablet on Twitter during a Samsung Forum.
